Registered Behavior Technician Training Certificate

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are paraprofessionals that work in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). RBTs work under direct, continuous supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), or/and Florida Certified Behavior Analysts (FL-CBA). This is an 8-week training course designed to meet the 40 hours required for the RBT credential. It is provided outside of the BACB. It is based on the 6 Task Items on the Registered Behavior Technician Task List. This course is designed to prepare you for the RBT Competency Assessment and the Board Certification exam. Successful completion of this course is contingent on passing the course with at least a 90%.
Students must be and stay present for the entire class while in session. As long as the student meets all course work and attendance requirements as defined by the instructor, students will meet the attendance requirements needed. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of the homework reqirements due for the following week and to participate in the in-class activities, while streaming-live.

Prerequisites to become an RBT:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a background check

Tara has earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCF, along with a Master of Science in Management from UCF, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BACB.) She has served countless families, schools, practitioners, and children.
The AppleTree Connection was founded in 2015 by Tara Zeller, MS, BCBA with the vision to serve families with children of all abilities. Tara brings 20 years of experience to her practice. The AppleTree Connection was founded on the premise that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. We are a local ABA company committed to educating and training therapists, parents and educators. We provide ABA consultation & therapy, RBT classes, parenting workshops and educator professional workshops. Tara's ABA roots are local as well. She began working at Threshold, a community of group homes for children and adults with developmental disabilities, in 1997 while studying psychology at UCF. Tara has worked with children of all abilities, as well as adults with severe developmental and physical disabilities. She is passionate about her work and the help that The AppleTree Connection provides to Central Florida families.
Kiana Espinal, M.Ed., BCBA
Kiana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCF, Master of Education from the University of Cincinnati, and her Board Certified Behavior Analyst credential from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She worked her way up from RBT to BCBA while working at The AppleTree Connection. Her knowledge and experience is invaluable to her RBT students.
